Hey guys, what’s up? I’ve got a new video for you this week. I wanted to take a look at the Ocean Way Studios plug-in from Universal Audio. This is one of my new favorite toys I’ve been playing with. It’s such a warm, authentic sound, which is really hard to come by with digital plug-in reverbs, I think.

They modeled Ocean Way Studios Studio A and Studio B. I’ve worked in these studios, and so it’s nice to sort of have those sounds in my computer. I’ve got them on some drums here. It sounds like this. [drums with Ocean Way reverb] A big rock drum sound.

I’m using this plug-in on an aux in reverb mode. It works in two different modes, and — well, let’s just break it down first. I’ll kind of give you a tour of the plug-in.

So you pull it up, it looks like this. You’ve got here on the left — obviously, you can read Ocean Way Studios. You can select either Ocean Way room A or room B.

And then they’ve set this up in a way where it’s sort of like the most common places they track these instruments, right? Because these are all big ass rooms.

Real Audio Plugin

This is what, 45 feet by 52 feet. So really large space. So your drums one, drums two, we’ve got strings, horns, pianos, in this corner here, vocal group, and then these positions change depending on which room you’re in. And then it’s got acoustic guitar, and guitar cabs. So let’s go back to — I was in A, drums 2. Alright, cool. So that’s sort of setting up the instruments, right?
